SonneMondSterne festival was run for 7 years, can you introduce SMS to people in CZ, who do not know yet what's goin' on?
The basic idea was to bring the party out of the club into the nature. The organisators tried to offer something new to the partypeople in the east of Germany. They found the right location with the Bleichlochtalsperre in Saalburg, a very big dam surrounded of gentle hills with trees. Of course it was a developement: every year we tried to get more like a festival. First we provide just one tent and one open-air area and last year we had 5 circus-tents, 2 open-air areas and a party-ship, which drives over the sea during the people are celebrating a great party.
But in between all this increase of the festial we always wanted to unit party with the nature.
Last year we first time been there and it was excellent! How many people organize this festival and how it works? Need to be hard work...
It is definatly hard work. The hard core consits of 7 to 8 people who work one year to organize the festival in the following year. During the festival they get support by about 600 employee´s.
Can you tell us some more about German summer festivals? What I know is that SMS was votes as best one...
You can find quite a lot festivals in Germany, but SonneMondSterne is unique because of it´s whole basic structure. We don´t want to provide our guests just a party which was the same like the last time. We try to provide something new every year. Some of the other festivals don´t do that and so it´s possible that it gets monotonous.
SonneMondSterne wants to provide something to the guest to indentify themselves with the festival, but always try to be innovative and fresh.
What kind of tastes and specials do you prepared for this year?
SonneMondSterne covers the musical taste of House, Techno, Drum`n´Bass and of Big Beat fans.For example we have Moloko, Gus Gus, Junkie XL and LTJ Bukem feat Mc Conrad, just to name some. Our this years specials is the new SMS.cup, a football cup where you can play against teams of artists, representatives of media, organisators and of a sponsor team. Beside of this you can play Volleyball or just have fun in our water-fun-sports-park.
For this year in cooperation with Ticketstream and BE Bassline you organize ticket presale and tour buses to SMS. Can you try to invite people to take the way...
The first thing is, that the festival is taken place in the east of Germany, so quite near to the Czech border. Beside of that it is an innovative and fresh festival with a different stile in music and location. And we don´t just provide the party, also a lot of spare-time activities like the SMS.cup. Together with Ticketstream and BE Bassline you have the chance to do a trip to Germany together with other Czech people, who want to join a great party. It´s like a small holiday-weekend. Sun, Moon and Stars surrounding you together with great music and a unique location.
Is there any name you wants to play this year, but it fall down?
Of course are there always names, who we want to invite to play at SonneMondSterne festival, but who can´t come because there´re playing anywhere else, for example. We don´t want to tell you a name, because we want to keep the shock effect. The potential is not exhausted, we have new ideas every year and we can realize some of our wishes everytime.
